NBMLHD – Visiting Medical Officer in Pain Medicine, up to 400 hours Nepean Hospital – APPLY VIA eCREDENTIAL
Selection Criteria
1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Possess Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014, and evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
3. Exceptional clinical knowledge in Pain Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty, including interventional pain therapies.
4. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
6. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
7. Exceptional clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Pain Medicine demonstrated by relevant qualifications and/or appropriate post-Fellowship clinical experience, including interventional pain therapies.
8. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department would be looked on favourably.
