NBMLHD – Staff Specialist in Neurology - Nepean Hospital – APPLY VIA eCREDENTIAL
- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent qualifications that can be assessed by RACP via specialist pathway, as provided for, in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
- Sound clinical knowledge in general neurology, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty. Sound knowledge in management of acute strokes and up-to-date knowledge of state/ nationally recognized acute stroke management pathways.
- Sound knowledge and training in movement disorders or neuro – immunology/ multiple sclerosis is preferred with willingness to establish the relevant outpatient service for NBMLHD.
- Ability to conduct general neurology clinic, as per the department requirements.
- A research background is preferred to take a leading/ supervisory role, in establishing clinical research, within the department.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
- Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
