National Indigenous Immunisation Coordinator
Please note that throughout the recruitment process you will be assessed with the following:
- Masters level qualification in public health or related field, or equivalent work experience in area/s directly relevant to the duties of the position, or a combination of study and work experience.
- Demonstrated cultural and community connection with the understanding of the issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's health and the ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples effectively.
- Extensive experience in Indigenous Health, with demonstrated knowledge of immunisation and vaccine-preventable diseases in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with organisations in health or related sectors to promote initiatives or programs with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander focus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to complete public health projects in an effective and timely manner.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in the use of relevant computer software packages including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).

As part of your application please address the following targeted questions:
- Describe a situation where you had to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including Indigenous communities or organisations, to develop or improve health policies or programs. How did you ensure that the perspectives and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples were incorporated into your work?
- Reflecting on your previous roles, could you discuss a scenario where you had to advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health initiatives, either within your organisation or at a national/state level? How did you navigate these advocacy efforts, and what was the outcome? Additionally, how did you foster collaboration between various research organisations, government departments, and community-controlled health organisations?

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
