  1. Tertiary qualification/s in a health-related field or communications, or equivalent work experience or combination of study and work experience.

  2. Strong written and verbal communication including the capacity to develop written and visual communication for various audiences and platforms, and skills in liaising with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and communities.

  3. Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships and liaise effectively with internal and external colleagues.

  4. Demonstrated high level of organisational and time management skills including ability to self-direct, prioritise workload, monitor progress of workflow and innovate.

  5. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with organisations in health or related sectors, to promote initiatives or programs with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander focus.

  6. Knowledge and experience in Indigenous Health, with knowledge of immunisation and vaccine- preventable diseases in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and an understanding of the broader health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are desirable.

  7. Experience in the use of relevant computer software packages including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).

  8. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification for the above position and is authorised under Section 14D of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
