Selection Criteria
- Current practicing Consultant Psychiatrist with Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
- Demonstrated leadership skills within a complex mental health service with the ability to motivate, inspire and organise staff to achieve organisational, program and professional outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and analyse clinical needs and to recommend and evaluate innovative business plans and organisational strategies in response to those needs. This includes the implementation of innovative and effective models of clinical practice.
- Evidence of being an advocate, including involvement with consumers and carer’s groups, media and lobbying experience and ability in health promotion and prevention and recognition of the social environment in which the public mental health service operates.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of change management principles and achievement of measurable outcomes.
- Proven effective negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal) with a wide range of stakeholders including patients, the public, and Ministry of Health and government representatives.
- A comprehensive knowledge of and commitment to health system safety, quality, risk management, improvement systems, research and professional development.
- A current NSW Class C driver's licence and willingness to travel consistent with district position responsibilities.
