What you'll be doing
Join the Access & Assessment Mental Health Team providing urgent and acute care, assessment, and coordination for people in crisis, while working collaboratively with clients, families, and key services.
Conduct intake, triage & mental health assessments
Provide crisis management & acute clinical care
Liaise with GPs, hospitals, police & agencies
Support medication management & client reviews
Mentor junior staff & contribute to team growth

Essential Requirements:
Qualifications which permit registration as a Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychologist which provides eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association and full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency where legislated.
Selection Criteria:
Experience and clinical skills in community mental health triage, comprehensive assessments, including risk and safety planning as well as experience in provision of collaborative care and discharge planning
Understanding of Mental Health/ Psychiatry service/ crisis work and ability to work with in a demanding crisis/acute management service.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with consumers/carers/families and has experience working with families who are coping with Mental Health Illness.
Highly developed interpersonal communications skills, effective verbal, written and negotiation skills and intermediate computer skills.
Experience and knowledge in acute mental health intervention, early intervention, and CALD issues.
Understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health with the ability to implement these in clinical practice.
Understanding of NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
Current Driving licence (class C - unrestricted) valid within Australia and willingness to use same for the work purpose.
