Where you'll be working:
As a Mental Health Clinician, you’ll be based in the vibrant rural town of Narrabri, working as part of the Northwest team within the New England Northwest (NENW) Mental Health Service. Serving communities across the Northwest catchment, you’ll join a contemporary and innovative service committed to providing acute mental health care and evidence-based treatment.

You’ll work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team of medical and allied health professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care. About the role:
In this role, you’ll be part of the Adult Community Team, providing care coordination and support to adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges. You’ll deliver high-quality, person-centred care, working closely with individuals on their recovery journey to help them achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing.

Using evidence-based approaches, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess needs, develop care plans, and implement tailored interventions. Your work will play a key role in empowering people to manage their mental health and live meaningful, connected lives in their community.

In this role, you’ll be well supported by the Community Manager and Clinical Coordinator, with regular clinical supervision available and actively encouraged to support your professional growth. As part of the broader Hunter New England Local Health District Mental Health Service, you’ll also benefit from connection to a strong network of peers and leaders, as well as access to ongoing education, training, and guidance from dedicated district support teams.

About you:
We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated clinician who is passionate about supporting people living with mental illness. You’ll bring a recovery-focused approach, working collaboratively with clients to develop and implement personalised Care Plans that support their mental health goals.

You’ll thrive in a team environment, contributing to a dynamic multidisciplinary team while also managing your own caseload with confidence and professionalism. Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build genuine therapeutic relationships will be essential to your success in this role.

Requirements:
  • Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health, Djirruwang Program), Nutrition, and Dietetics which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
