What you'll be doing
The Medical Radiation Scientist (MRS) in the Radiology Department at Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) provides high-quality Diagnostic Medical Imaging services. This role demands proficiency in clinical procedures, patient care, and teamwork.
- Perform radiology exams in line with professional standards and policies.
- Participate in 24/7 rotating roster and on-call duties.
- Provide patient-focused care, ensuring clarity and support during procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.
- Contribute to teamwork and maintain equipment to optimize service delivery.

Essential Criteria:
- License: NSW EPA Radiation Licence IA14
- Qualification: Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science – Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
- Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)
- Grading at Level 3, Grade 2 will depend on experience in modality of specialisation and/or certificate of specialisation in modality.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in a minimum of two imaging modalities
- Experience working in a busy hospital environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve clinical situations and to develop effective solutions
- Demonstrated clinical expertise through development of protocols, clinical reviews, teaching and delivery of in-services and presentations
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and assist with the on-going education and training of MRS’ colleagues, across modalities, including complex clinical procedures.
