What you'll be doing 

The Medical Radiation Scientist (MRS) in the Radiology Department at Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) provides high-quality Diagnostic Medical Imaging services. This role demands proficiency in clinical procedures, patient care, and teamwork.

• Perform radiology exams in line with professional standards and policies.
• Participate in 24/7 rotating roster and on-call duties.
• Provide patient-focused care, ensuring clarity and support during procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.
• Contribute to teamwork and maintain equipment to optimize service delivery.

Essential Criteria:

• License: NSW EPA Radiation Licence IA14
• Qualification: Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science – Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
• Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)
• Grading at Level 3, Grade 2 will depend on experience in modality of specialisation and/or certificate of specialisation in modality.

Selection Criteria:

1. Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in a minimum of two imaging modalities
2. Experience working in a busy hospital environment
3. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
4. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Demonstrated ability to solve clinical situations and to develop effective solutions
6. Demonstrated clinical expertise through development of protocols, clinical reviews, teaching and delivery of in-services and presentations
7. Demonstrated ability to supervise and assist with the on-going education and training of MRS’ colleagues, across modalities, including complex clinical procedures.
