About the role:
The Speech Pathology team work collaboratively to create a positive team culture. You would be a valued and respected leader of the team, making an enormous impact on the health of the community. In this role, you will be accountable for leading an enthusiastic team of Speech Pathologists, organising and delivering effective assessment, diagnosis and management of patients at Manning Base Hospital.

The Support:
We have an amazing team of Allied Health Professionals – Managers, Senior Clinicians and early career professionals who provide support and encourage each other to provide Excellent care. You will be supported in this role by the Director of Allied Health and Integrated Care as well as support from Allied Health managers across the area, and the network of Speech Pathologists within the LMNCS.

Where you'll be working:
The Manning Base Allied Health team are incredibly welcoming and love working together to ensure provide the best service for the community. As the manager of the Speech pathology team you would be working with experienced Speechies who are passionate about their patients and the community. This tight-knit team love getting together to learn, socialise and celebrate the achievements of the wider Allied Health team.

Manning Base Hospital serves the local communities of Taree, Forster, Tuncurry and the surrounding districts. Recent redevelopments have seen enhancements in the delivery of cancer care services, renal dialysis services, medical imaging services, a hospital car park reconfiguration, increased consultation spaces and a refurbished hospital main entrance. A further 190 Million for stage 2 will commence early in 2025. Manning Base Hospital has 180 beds with all the specialities you would expect of a Rural Hospital, providing you with a diverse mix of elective and emergency cases with support from our tertiary centre (John Hunter Hospital).

About you:
Are you passionate about providing Speech Pathology services to the people of the Lower Mid North Coast? From the beautiful beaches of Forster to the mountain ranges and picturesque valleys and rivers.
  • Positive, motivated and passionate about patient outcomes. 
  • Have an interest in evidence-based, innovative Speech Pathology practice.
  • Loves working with diverse range professionals and is a dedicated leader with a can-do attitude.
  • Able to develop great relationships with team members, working well with staff within and outside the Speech team.
  • Has a strong work ethic and is keen to continue to develop their leadership skills


Requirements:

  • Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
