About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager for Youth Drug & Alcohol Clinical Services to join our passionate Child, Youth & Family team. Based at James Fletcher Hospital in Newcastle, this position plays a pivotal leadership role in delivering clinical leadership, operational management and consultation to the Youth Drug & Alcohol Clinical Services (YDACS), Substance Use in Pregnancy and Parenting (SUPPS), Child & Adolescent Withdrawal Service and their future matters - Whole Family Team (WFT). This role supports the ongoing implementation of the new Special Commission of Inquiry into the Drug Ice (SCI) funded program, working in close collaboration with Ted Noffs Youth Rehabilitation Service based in Newcastle and John Hunter Hospital.
As part of our wider Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services Executive Team, you’ll join a district wide network of supportive manager and leaders who take part in regular team catch-ups throughout the year to foster collaboration and wellbeing. You’ll also be well connected with the DACS teams, who are committed to staff wellness and engagement through a variety of initiatives.
Where you’ll be working:
The bulk of your team will be located at the James Fletcher Campus, with regular interaction and co-management responsibilities alongside the John Hunter Hospital Consultant Liaison team and CAMHS, particularly within the Youth Program.
About the position:
This is not a desk-bound role. Your week will include:

Providing clinical and operational leadership across multidisciplinary teams

Coordinating service delivery across Youth Drug & Alcohol Clinical Services (YDACS), SUPPS, and the Whole Family Team over a number of sites

Supporting trauma-informed care practices across service areas

Driving the establishment and continuous improvement of the SCI-funded initiatives

Collaborating with the Ted Noffs Youth Rehabilitation Service and other key NGOs to align clinical goals and implementation strategies to improve the wellbeing of children, young people and families.

Essential Requirements:

Must hold a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association/full registration through AHPRA and is able to demonstrate relevant management experience.

A valid NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the district
