About the Opportunity
NSW Health Pathology currently has the opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Management Accountant to join the team in a permanent full time capacity, located in our Corporate Office space in Newcastle. What you'll be doing
The position works closely with the Senior Management Accountant, Director of Financial Operations, Portfolio Directors and Business Managers. This requires a strong understanding of financial principles, financial systems and excellent communication skills.

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce and full membership of a professional accounting body or close to completion.
- Detailed understanding of accounting theory including performance reporting, budget and forecast development with understanding of the principles around budget maintenance and reporting results against an agreed budget.
- Capacity to build, develop and sustain positive partnerships and productive working relationships with all levels of staff both internal and external;
- Experience in advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions by the interpretation and creation of financial and performance reporting.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, as well as the ability to use the tools within Microsoft Excel to import and massage large volumes of transactions in a format that will assist analysing financial results.
- Significant experience and skills using a recognised financial management information system in a large and complexed organisation such as Oracle Financial Management System or similar.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and experience in liaising and negotiating at all levels with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strong problem solving ability being able to identify and resolve issues to strict deadlines to met stakeholder expectations.
