NSW Health Pathology is currently hiring a Leading Hand Cleaner to become part of our dynamic and dedicated team within the Forensic & Analytical Science Service (FASS). This is a permanent, full-time position that promises both stability and growth in a role that truly makes a difference.
We’re looking for a skilled cleaning professional who takes pride in their work, eager to lead and would perfectly suit a seasoned cleaning supervisor or a cleaner with demonstrated leadership abilities wanting a career, not just a job. This role offers the perfect opportunity to manage a small, committed team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
FASS specialises in providing independent and objective forensic analysis to the criminal and coronial justice systems, as well as quality scientific analysis that contributes to community health and safety. Our services include illicit drug analysis, forensic and drug toxicology, chemical criminalistics, forensic biology and DNA, forensic medicine, environmental toxicology, and environmental microbiology. What you'll be doing

- Extensive management and cleaning experience in a healthcare environment
- Proven leadership ability and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as being self motivated when working as an individual
- Demonstrated sound understanding of industrial standard cleaning techniques, with the ability to apply the most appropriate cleaning agent and method
- Demonstrated comprehensive PC, written communication skills, including reading and understanding chemical labels, and the ability to effectively communicate within a multidisciplinary staff environment
- Demonstrate the use of various Applications Portals, ChemAlert, COS, HealthRoster, Linenweb, My Health Learning & StaffLink
- Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety principles, including safe manual handling techniques
- Hold a current NSW driver’s license and willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the role.
- Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases
This position is a permanent position. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency. Please note: A person who is not an Australian citizen or a permanent resident is only eligible for temporary employment for a period not longer than the duration of their current visa.
If the selection panel identifies more than one suitable candidate for the role, an eligibility list will be created for future permanent full time / part time, temporary and casual vacancies.
All staff employed by NSW FASS will be required to supply a reference buccal sample so that their DNA profile can be compared to other generated profiles to exclude the possibility of contamination.
