About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. - Provide clinical leadership, strategic direction, advanced education, and expert clinical care and consultancy to both the SLHD Sexual Assault Medical Service and the Sexual assault medical and forensic field of practice.
- Provide medical and forensic responses and health care (within scope of practice) to people who have experienced violence, abuse and neglect (including crisis responses, non-acute, and follow up medical care and health care navigation).
- Participate a 24-hour crisis roster (including after hours on call) – sexual assault and domestic and family violence services (or integrated VAN Service).
- Participate in the development and implementation of a statewide integrated psychosocial, medical and forensic domestic and family violence crisis model.
- Participate in the review and implementation of an expanded scope of practice for nurses to respond to violence, abuse and neglect.
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
- Completed or working towards completion of NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence Graduate Certificate in the Medical and Forensic Management of Adult Sexual Assault (or equivalent).
- Extensive clinical experience and expertise in clinical and forensic examinations of sexual assault victim-survivors.
- Advanced clinical leadership skills, including staff supervision and mentoring; participation in state/national/international specialist clinical groups; knowledge of best practice and contemporary clinical practice advances.
