Selection Criteria:
- Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent (NB applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW) and have demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively liaise and communicate with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities and agencies.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health promotion, public health, community development discipline or extensive work related experience in health services and communications.
- Demonstrated application of health promotion principles and skills in planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion programs and activities (relating to improving the health and well-being of priority populations and building healthier places).
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement and/or undertaking community development approaches to reduce health inequities.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of newsletters, web-based information and content.
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills including managing competing priorities, problem solving and an ability to work as part of a team as well as independently to deliver agreed outcomes.
- Demonstrated excellent and written communication skills, decision making and negotiating skills with a strong customer service approach.
- Current unrestricted NSW Class C driver’s licence.
