Health Education Officer, Healthy Active Environments
We are seeking a casual health promotion officer to work within our Healthy Built Environments team three days per week. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our sustainable travel work and support other initiatives focusing on healthy places, healthy housing and healthy food and drink environments.

What you'll be doing
The purpose of this position is to develop, implement and evaluate population health strategies. This includes improving and advocating for healthier built environments within the community as well as in the workplace. A primary focus of this position is active and sustainable travel, including strategies to reduce emissions related to staff commuting. The position will also work in partnership with internal and external stakeholder planning processes to advocate for the planning of places that support the health and wellbeing of people. This position may require the staff member to be available for some evening and very occasional weekends to attend local council meetings and events.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health promotion, public health or other behavioural health sciences.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in building, maintaining and strengthening partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience in advocating for healthy built environments.
