About the role:
Tomaree Hospital provides quality healthcare to people living in Nelson Bay and surrounding areas.
The Health and Security Assistant (HSA) works as part of a team, in collaboration with other staff, to assist with the provision of high-quality security services and health assistant services.
We provide hands-on training and ongoing support to ensure you're confident in both patient care and security duties.
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Assist with patient care and safe transport within the hospital.
- Support de-escalation of aggressive situations, ensuring safety for all.
- Work closely with a dedicated healthcare and security team.
- You'll work alongside a dedicated team to ensure a safe and supportive hospital environment.
About You:
You are a calm and confident problem solver, able to de-escalate situations with professionalism. Your strong communication skills allow you to work effectively with patients, visitors, and staff in a fast-paced hospital environment.
You have proven experience in handling challenging situations with professionalism and care, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
The successful applicant will hold a valid security licence
- You must have:
- Class 1A security licence under the Security Industry Act, 1997
- Ability to work shift work.
