About the Role
Canterbury Hospital is committed to providing high quality healthcare services to our local community, focused on patient and family-centred care.
Since opening in 1929 our hospital continues to grow to meet the changing needs of our community and incorporate new models of care.
Lead and manage the Social Work Department at Canterbury Hospital, including the supervision of staff, management of professional standards and development of safety and quality. The Head of Department also works with the Professional Discipline Director of Social Work and other Heads of Departments/Deputy Heads of Department to enhance Social Work services, standards and quality across the allied health stream in Sydney LHD.

- Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work according to the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award that provides eligibility for full membership with the AASW.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and clinical experience in the provision of Social Work across a broad range of clinical areas.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in the leadership, supervision and management of Social Work profession. This includes demonstrated ability to identify and lead change across the Social Work service to improve service delivery models and meet identified KPIs.
