These positions are based at, and work in, General Services at Liverpool Hospital in South West Sydney Local Health District. General Services are due to transition to HealthShare NSW by mid year which means that applicants will become an employee of HealthShare NSW, working at Liverpool Hospital. HealthShare NSW is part of NSW Health and provides Local Health Districts with state-wide services such as finance, payroll, procurement, food, hotel, linen, and non-emergency patient transport. All conditions of employment remain the same and are in accordance with the relevant State Award.
What You'll be Doing
The General Services Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of Hospital Assistants to achieve efficient and effective service delivery outcomes in cleaning and waste management. Also to provide a clean Hazard free environment for patients, staff and visitors and maintain facilities in a manner that will protect and enhance.
Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.

- Proven organizational and time management skills, with advanced proficiency in PC-based software, including the Microsoft Office suite and network-based applications.
- High-level communication skills, including writing, interpersonal, liaison, problem-solving, negotiation, and discretion.
- Experience in managing a team to achieve key performance indicators and training employees on policies, procedures, and standards, with knowledge of Infection Prevention principles and WHS legislation.
- Knowledge and experience in supervising staff within a healthcare environment, particularly in implementing the Clinical Excellence Commission's Standard Operating Procedure in Cleaning, and the ability to work a 7-day rotating roster with varying shift times.
