1. Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, economics or related discipline or other relevant experience or a combination of study and work experience. Professional accounting qualification (CPA/CA) will be highly regarded.
2. Demonstrated experience in the successful development and management of operating budget targets in a multi-cost centre, decentralised organisation
3. Experience in high-level financial management reporting, including policies, procedures and key performance indicators/measures
4. High-level skills and experience in computerised financial management systems and spreadsheet applications, such as Oracle/SAP; advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills;
5. High level written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
6. Strong analytical, organisational and conceptual skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret information from different sources to pro-actively identify issues and formulate pragmatic, business-focused strategies to address them
7. Public sector financial management experience, specifically in the health sector, will be highly regarded but not essental.
