Farmgate Drought Support Worker - Bega
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent (NB applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW) and have established links with their local Aboriginal community.
- Demonstrated experience of living and/or working in rural and remote communities and awareness of the impact that drought has on individuals, family relationships and communities.
- Completion of the Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work or willingness to complete same or Certificate IV in a mental health related role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to plan, implement and evaluate group and individual peer support interventions.
- Experience in working collaboratively within a team and of building and maintaining effective relationships.
- Demonstrated effective negotiation, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
- Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
