About the opportunity


NSW Health Pathology is seeking dedicated and experienced Environmental Services Officers – Cleaners to join our team in a Permanent Part-Time position, requiring a commitment of 32 hours per week. In this vital role, your cleaning expertise will contribute directly to the safety and comfort of staff, and visitors by maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and infection control across our facilities.

What you'll be doing

Responsible for performing all aspects of cleaning and associated domestic duties to ensure a clean and safe facility, and to comply with guidelines of NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP) and Work Health & Safety (WHS) Policies.

  1. Demonstrated experience in a healthcare environment or in a commercial/industrial cleaning role
  2. Demonstrated sound understanding of industrial standard cleaning techniques, with the ability to apply the most appropriate cleaning agent and method
  3. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as being self motivated when working as an individual
  4. Demonstrated comprehensive written communication skills, including reading and understanding chemical labels, and the ability to effectively communicate within a multidisciplinary staff environment
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health & Safety principles, including safe manual handling techniques
  6. Demonstrated experience using a range of computer applications and workplace systems such as Portals, ChemAlert, My Health Learning, and StaffLink and/or ability to quickly learn and navigate new systems or software.
  7. Hold a current NSW drivers license and willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the role
  8. Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence
