Lorikeet Early Learning Centre, St George Hospital at Kogarah was established in 1990 by the NSW Government to provide care and education to children of parents working within the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD), particularly at St George Hospital. We are an employer-sponsored, long day care service. This position is Monday to Friday, 8.5 hour shifts (shifts start between 6.30 and 9.45am) with monthly ADOs.

The Role

  • To provide high quality care and education to the children enrolled at Lorikeet Early Learning Centre to ensure families working within SESLHD are able to carry out their duties knowing their children are well cared for.
  • To work with the Director and other staff in all matters important to the care and education of the children and the smooth running of the Centre.
  • To maintain practices in accordance with the National Quality Framework as well as all Lorikeet and SESLHD policies and procedures.

  1. Diploma or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care or equivalent ( as approved by ACECQA).
  2. Qualifications equivalent to HLTAID012 ( Provide first aid in an education and care setting ) (as approved by ACECQA - must cover Provide First Aid and emergency response to asthma and anaphylaxis).
  3. Ambition to provide excellent education and care to children 0-5 years
  4. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver educational programs for children 0-5 years
  5. Sound, practical working knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  6. Demonstrated confident and motivated personality with a good level of maturity, initiative and flexibility
  7. Appropriate written and oral communication skills to enable you to communicate effectively through verbal and written means with management, colleagues and families.
