About the Opportunity
A great opportunity for a highly skilled dietitian with an interest in supporting people from a refugee background. You will have extensive experience managing dietetic clinical services to both children and adults with complex needs. You will be able to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team and ideally have experience in community nutrition.  

You’ll be working within a multidisciplinary team to provide nutrition assessment and support to children and some adults. There is also the opportunity to be involved in some community nutrition projects and enjoy a  hybrid  working  environment.

What You'll be Doing
The position will be involved in developing and having input into a range of community health promotion projects, provide a limited clinical service at RHS for underserved clients, provide advice and support on dietetic matters to RHS’ clinical staff, and deliver training to dieticians and other health staff working with refugees). These activities aim to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position will also participate in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities and other relevant departmental and administrative duties at RHS. The position will function as part of a multidisciplinary team, in a state-wide service, based at Liverpool.

How to Apply

  1. Qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics that allows eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia
  2. Relevant clinical experience including demonstrated advanced practice skills and management of complex case load, or high level broad generalist knowledge relevant to the client group
  3. Experience working independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group education skills and excellent computer skills
  5. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/project/administrative demands
  6. Demonstrated experience ability to initiate, lead, complete and evaluate quality improvement initiatives and/or research focused on patient/client outcomes
  7. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the capacity to provide a consultative role on refugee nutrition
  8. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to social justice, and to the issues of access and equity in health
  9. Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
