About the Service, Team and Location

This exciting opportunity is based at Manning Hospital in Taree, located in the picturesque Manning Valley on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Nestled between scenic bushland and beautiful beaches, Taree offers the best of both worlds – a relaxed regional lifestyle just under 2 hours north of Newcastle and around 4 hours from Sydney. You’ll be surrounded by vibrant coastal communities and idyllic seaside towns, making it a perfect place to live, work and unwind.

Manning Hospital is a 202-bed facility delivering a wide range of healthcare services across multiple specialty areas. As part of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, you’ll join a respected and highly skilled team of clinical dietitians who are passionate about evidence-based care, professional development, and collaborative practice.

About the Role

No two days will be the same in this Level 3 Dietitian role. You’ll be delivering expert, patient-centred nutritional care across a broad and varied caseload in an acute care environment. Your clinical advice will help support positive health outcomes for patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams alike.

Your work will be guided by best-practice standards set by Dietitians Australia, Hunter New England Health, and other relevant bodies, with a strong focus on delivering care that is holistic, evidence-informed and impactful.

You will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff, sharing knowledge and helping shape the future of the profession within a supportive and forward-thinking team.

💡 This is a Dietitian Level 3 position; however, if no suitable Level 3 applicants are identified, applications from Levels 1 and 2 are welcome. In this case, you’ll need to clearly demonstrate your current level of competence and your ability to work towards Level 3. Performance expectations will be aligned with your experience and current classification at appointment.

A Typical Week Might Include:

  • Providing nutritional assessments, interventions, and reviews for a diverse case mix across medical, surgical and other acute care areas

  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care

  • Supporting and guiding less experienced Dietitians and students

  • Participating in departmental projects or quality improvement activities

  • Staying up to date with current evidence and contributing to best-practice innovation

  • Engaging in supervision, reflective practice and ongoing professional learning

You’ll be fully supported as you settle into the role with a comprehensive orientation program and professional practice supervision from within the team.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Committed to upholding high standards of care and contributing to a positive, supportive workplace culture

Some things can be learned – we’re here to support your growth. But we’re looking for someone who brings the right energy, initiative and commitment from day one.
