About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity in our Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority (SDPRIA), for an Engineer - Database.
The SDPRIA Cloud Hosting Team is building the new mission critical system which clinicians across NSW Health rely on to provide 24 x 7 critical care. A key aspect of the role will be to contribute to a team supporting the core technology infrastructure for our new Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) electronic medical record, with a focus on the Amazon Web Services tier, which is the foundation application hosting platform for the SDPR program. SDPR will provide a secure, holistic, and integrated view of the care a patient receives across the NSW Health system, enabling clinicians to access a patient's medical information in real time from a single source.
In this role, your team will:
Support the core technology infrastructure for SDPR by:
- Taking accountability for the design, implementation, and operations of hosting the Epic software solution on the Amazon Web Services Public Cloud platform.
- Supporting the SDPR program's capability to deliver subsequent implementation schedules to time, budget, and quality.
- Deliver complex systems architecture and ensure the successful building, operating and running of products or platforms in alignment with relevant roadmaps.
- Deploy, and manage the foundational infrastructure for robustness, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Account for optimisation, cost efficiency, integrations, and automation.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve cross-functional synergy, lifting the overall capability of the SDPR platform.
- Collaborate with various technical and non-technical stakeholders, including platform and product owners, solution architects, engineers, project team members, and SMEs from our partners.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Demonstrated experience in build and support of enterprise services on public cloud platforms in a shared services environment. Expertise in operating databases such as Oracle or SQL including monitoring, performance management, backups, ETL processes, operating systems (Windows or Linux) and public Cloud (Azure or AWS).
- Demonstrated experience with leading modern ICT Delivery and operational practices, including associated operating methodologies (such as Agile).
