Data Scientist and Data Analyst
Selection Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and / or relevant experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, Actuarial, Mathematics, and Statistics. A history of openness and curiosity to explore new analytics techniques and data engineering principles and tools is essential.
- Experience (>2 years) with a range of analytics methodologies, ideally including predictive modelling (e.g. Generalised Linear Model regression, discriminant analysis, or similar).
- Experience (>2 years) in the utilisation of SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebook and Panda/ Numpy/ SQLAlchemy/ Matplotlib Library.
- Experience (>2 years) in data wrangling process and demonstrated competency in cleaning and organising complex dataset.
- Experience (>2 years) conducting and interpreting statistical analyses of population-based health, administrative or other health related data, using a range of analytic tools and methodologies, including temporal and sub-group adjusted and/or linked data analyses, in order to describe and compare the performance of health systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and consultation skills, both inter- and intra-agency. This includes demonstrated experience in preparing written reports and presentations for a variety of audiences.
- Experience (>2 years) working collaboratively to complete analytics projects including working with other technical functions or organisational stakeholders.
- Demonstrated interest in the principles of reproducible analysis, ethical data science, data management and governance and the application of data governance frameworks and policies to day-to-day information sharing and analytics.
