What you'll be doing:
The Consumer and Clinical Engagement Manager plays a pivotal role in championing the consumer voice and leading a culture of partnership, continuous quality improvement, and person-centred care across the diverse services of the Primary and Community Health (PaCH) Directorate. This role acts as a senior level authority on consumer and clinical engagement strategies and initiatives, under the direction of the PaCH Clinical Quality Manager, to actively strengthen consumer and clinician engagement across PaCH services, ensuring that consumer perspectives are integrated into clinical decision-making, service planning, and quality improvement initiatives. The role is responsible for leading and implementing consumer and clinician engagement strategies that align with the NSLHD Partnering with Consumer Framework 2021-2026, the National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards (Standard 2), and the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights. This includes empowering consumers to actively participate in healthcare improvement initiatives, supporting clinicians in adopting collaborative approaches to care, and fostering partnerships with external agencies. Additionally, the Consumer and Clinical Engagement Manager applies evidence-based quality improvement methodologies to influence decision-making, drive service enhancements, and support system-wide improvements, ultimately improving patient experience and health outcomes across PaCH services.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:      

 

  1. Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in quality improvement, consumer engagement, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of study and work experience.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of accreditation, particularly in relation to the ‘partnering with consumers’ standard, with demonstrated application of strategies to enable consumer engagement across a large and complex organisation.
  3. Demonstrated comprehensive experience in applying QI methodologies to drive service improvements, meet accreditation requirements, and influence decision-making.
  4. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a strong customer service approach, and proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to drive service enhancements and strengthen consumer-clinician partnerships.
