Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Hawkesbury Mental Health Consultation Liaison Team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant. This position provides mental health consultation liaison, clinical assessments and advice for consumers, staff and other relevant stakeholders admitted within the medical inpatient wards/units.
The successful incumbent will work collaboratively to provide safe, compassionate, person-centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams. This role will also be responsible for the provision of clinical supervision to nursing staff and acts as a role model, providing nursing/midwifery care on a regular basis.

What you will bring to the role
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and current NSW Driver’s License and willingness to use same as required for the position
- Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in Mental Health and post graduate qualifications in Mental Health or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
- Evidence of consistent demonstration of behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation with all stakeholders including colleagues, direct reports patients and consumers.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
- Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence-based research.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning
- Ability to apply clinical expertise in patient-centred consultancy with the ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
