Are you ready to take the next step in your nursing career? Looking for a role where you can grow your leadership skills, influence community care, and be truly valued by your team?
Moree Community Health is seeking a passionate and approachable Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to join our experienced team providing care to the communities of Moree, Mungindi, and Boggabilla.

Why Moree?

Yes, Moree is remote, and yes, it can be challenging. But it’s also a place where your work matters. Where community connection is real, your team supports each other like family, and you can genuinely shape services for the better.

You'll be surrounded by a passionate and experienced team and have access to:

  • Affordable living and temporary accommodation support (nurses quarters – up to 3 months) to help with the transition.

  • Unique professional experience you won’t find in metro locations.

  • A role where your leadership will have a real impact.

Moree also offers hot artesian baths, stunning rural sunsets, and a close-knit lifestyle that's perfect if you’re looking to escape the hustle and reconnect with your purpose.

About the Role

As the NUM for Community Health, you will lead a diverse and committed team of over 40 staff across three centres. This is a highly rewarding leadership role where you’ll be the go-to person for staff, managing the day-to-day operations, staffing, and coordination of care.

You’ll work closely with the Community Health Manager to ensure high-quality, equitable care is delivered to some of our region’s most in-need populations. This is a role where your leadership will directly shape service delivery and staff satisfaction.

Whether you’re an experienced NUM or a senior clinician ready to step up and build your management skills, you’ll be well supported with structured orientation, access to NUM development workshops, and one-on-one mentoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support nursing, allied health, and admin staff across Moree, Mungindi, and Boggabilla.

  • Manage staffing, rostering, sick leave, and day-to-day operations.

  • Act as the clinical leader and quality coordinator for Community Health Services.

  • Build meaningful, trusting relationships with staff to ensure open communication and continuous improvement.

  • Help shape service delivery within existing models and resources, while advocating for community needs.

What We're Looking For

  • A compassionate leader who staff feel comfortable approaching, someone who listens, supports, and builds trust over time.

  • Strong communication and time management skills.

  • Confidence to work independently in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with HNE systems, such as CHIME (or willingness to learn).

  • An open mind, this is a perfect role for someone ready to grow into leadership with the right support.

Make the Move, We'll Support You

Whether you’re already in rural health or curious about what leadership in a regional setting looks like, we’d love to hear from you.

Take the next step in your leadership journey where you can grow, be supported, and make a difference every day.

Apply now to become the Nurse Unit Manager for Moree Community Health and help shape the future of care in this vibrant rural region.
