About the Role 

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
 
The Clinical Trials Business Manager is responsible for the planning, coordinating, leading and managing the financial and operational clinical trials activities of the Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Department at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). This includes budget reconciliation, escalation of outstanding payments, managing clinical trial ethics submissions and patient reimbursements. The role will also be responsible for promoting the RPAH Respiratory and Sleep Medicine as a quality research base for pharmacy and investigator-led research, in support of clinical trials at RPAH. Further, the role will be involved in providing feedback and contributing to the design of high quality standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the financial management of clinical trials, to streamline processes across the RPAH Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine and enhance the timely delivery of services.

Candidates with experience in clinical trials finance and the NSW Health systems are highly desirable.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in clinical trials or financial management in a health service environment with experience in invoice reconciliation and ethics applications.
  • Experience in managing financial operations; ability to escalate and troubleshoot delays in invoice reconciliation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to negotiate, conduct presentations and resolve conflicts effectively.
