What you'll be doing
Join a passionate team at Western Sydney Local Health District's PCYMHS, supporting adolescents aged 12–18 with complex mental health needs. This role suits a Clinical Psychologist dedicated to trauma-informed and systemic care. Some responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and treating adolescents and families with complex/chronic mental health conditions
  • Delivering evidence-based interventions including DBT, Family Therapy and trauma-informed care
  • Maintaining high-quality clinical records, ensuring confidentiality and security
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development and skill advancement
  • Contributing to training through supervision and orientation programmes

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification: Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Registration: Full registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA and endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology, or eligibility to progress to endorsement.

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in working with young people and their families/carers with emotional and behavioural issues using evidence based and family focussed treatments eg: Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Family Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, Attachment Based Interventions and other appropriate cognitive, behavioural and emotional models of intervention.
  2. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
  3. Capacity to provide a therapeutic group program to adolescents and their families
  4. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with other service providers to achieve optimal outcomes for adolescents and their families.
  5. Experience working in mental health and, desirably, a knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
  6. A working knowledge of current Child Protection procedures.
  7. Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
