Selection Criteria to be Addressed:
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years full time equivalent experience working in the clinical area of Drug & Alcohol Speciality, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Evidence of clinical experience and skills in providing complex care specific to those with substance withdrawal and related concerns.
- Demonstrated commitment to effectively communicate and engage with patients/carers and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
- Demonstrated problem solving and evidence of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidence based nursing.
- Demonstrated understanding and evidence of Quality improvement process within a speciality area and provision of person-centred care including withdrawal management and comprehensive drug & alcohol assessment.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical practice development, use of information technology and own professional development.
