What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Specialist, Grade 2, is responsible for delivering complex specialist nursing care and leading development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery, to provide effective quality care for patients/clients with complex care needs.

This role is a Category A role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.

For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

 

To obtain a WWCC clearance number, follow the instructions on the website of Service NSW, which includes completing an online application form and then attending a Service NSW Centre or a NSW Council Agency that provides Road and Maritime Services, to provide proof of identity and pay for the WWCC to be completed. 

Please note that a volunteer WWCC (which is free) cannot be used for paid employment.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA) and a licence to drive in NSW with the ability to drive occasionally for work purposes.
  2. Relevant post-registration qualification and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
  3. Demonstrates effective communication including verbal, written and interpersonal skills and information technology skills to provide complex speciality services and influence innovative nursing practice.
  4. Demonstrates ability to work effectively and collaboratively both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrates ability to provide complex care and advanced clinical skills.
  6. Demonstrates clinical expertise and clinical leadership in the area of specialty, including ability to develop nursing speciality clinical practice and service delivery.
  7. Demonstrates ability to practice in accordance with the Registered Nurse Standards or Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia).
