About Your Role

As a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) at MLHD, you will be instrumental in the development and career success of the nursing team. You will be the go-to expert for nursing education, providing engaging evidence-based programs and support to enhance clinical knowledge and skills. Reap the benefit of your patient and customised approach to education; ensuring all nursing staff are able to apply their learning to clinical practice and deliver safe, high-quality healthcare.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Education and Development: Promoting best practice through staff development and clinical education and training, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in accordance with governing documents including policies, procedures, guidelines, pathways and frameworks.
  • Leadership: Act as a clinical leader to inspire and lead a diverse team of nurses and healthcare staff, provide appropriate supervision and guidance to motivate and encourage the workforce to achieve their goals, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of patient care by implementing best practices and quality improvement initiatives, in accordance with national standards. Supervise, mentor and support the workforce to promote a culture of quality and safety.
  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge through effective problem solving and decision making, adapting education approaches to empower staff in their roles and throughout their education needs.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a trusting environment conducive of learning.
  • Professional Development: Maintain professional growth and development by participating in educational opportunities.

About the Health Service

Wagga Wagga Health Service provides services including critical care, medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric, and rehabilitation care. The facility also provides mental health and community health services. A team of specialists support the service which include cardiovascular, gastroenterology, renal medicine, obstetrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry and paediatrics.

There is also the provision of a full range of allied health and support services such as oral health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sexual health and violence prevention and response services.
