Royal North Shore Hospital Community Health Drug and Alcohol team
What you'll be doing
NSLHD Drug and Alcohol Services offer a range of treatment and support services for people with problematic alcohol, or other drug use. This position provides expert advice, assessment, clinical treatment, psychosocial interventions and treatment planning for patients with Drug and Alcohol and Mental Health co-morbidities across the Local Health District.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and current NSW Driver’s license.
- Minimum 5 years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent experience in the field of Drug and Alcohol/Mental Health clinical practice. In addition, must have an approved post graduate qualification, minimum graduate Diploma/Certificate or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification in this field.
- Explain your understanding of a Drug and Alcohol, Mental Health comorbidity role in relation to your experience?
- Describe a time you had to collaborate with multiple disciplines for a consumer? What was your role and what were the challenges and successes?
- How do you stay up to date with the latest evidenced based practices in drug and alcohol treatment and comorbidity management?
- How do NSW Health core values align with your approach to patient care and team collaboration?
- Explain your understanding of NSW Health policies and guidelines related to drug and alcohol treatment and mental health care?
- Demonstrated high level clinical skills in D&A assessment, withdrawal, opioid and other pharmacotherapies, psychosocial interventions, treatment planning for patients and ability to apply clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
