Clinical Nurse Consultant Infection Prevention and Control

Selection Criteria

1. Registered nurse with a current licence to practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and current NSW Driver's License (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
2. Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post graduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice.
3. Demonstrated clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently using effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums, and an understanding of the practice development framework.
4. 4.Demonstrated experience in outbreak and incident investigation, management and reporting, in hospital and community-based settings.
5. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, computer literacy and experience in data management.
6. Demonstrated experience in providing education to a multidisciplinary healthcare workforce supported by strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to motivate and direct the activities of others in contemporary clinical practice.
7. Proven ability to implement changes and develop policy and practice, founded on an expert understanding of contemporaneous issues in infection prevention and control.
8. Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including infection prevention and control relating to the built environment, and an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes.
