Remuneration: $131,870 - $134,500 per annum + Annual leave loading + 11.5% Superannuation

About the Role
Concord Repatriation General Hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. Building on its proud heritage of caring for the Veteran community, the hospital now services the local communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and beyond.
- Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs.
- Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice.
- Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
- Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs.
- Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.
Further accountabilities for the respiratory Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Grade 2:
- Respiratory failure outreach service to Emergency and ICU.
- Oversight of acute respiratory inpatient and inpatient developed acute respiratory condition (supporting ward or AHCNC or CERS CNC).
- Intercostal catheter management for inpatients.
- Oversight of bronchoscopy and other pulmonary intervention or procedures; assist in procedure during non-procedure day.
- Tracheostomy management including daily tracheostomy patient review & monthly Tracheostomy clinic.
- Discharge planning for tracheostomy patients including education for patient, carer, and aged care facilities on the long-term care of tracheostomies.
- Inpatient asthma/COPD education & discharge planning including inhaler therapy education.
- Home oxygen organization for inpatients and outpatient outreach service.

Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- All candidates must have full working rights within Australia.
