Selection Criteria
- Extensive post registration experience in either surgical or medical oncology, ideally with at least 3 years of experience as a breast care nurse or related discipline.
- Experience and demonstrated ability to provide advocacy, support, assessment and referral.
- Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty
- Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
