Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) delivers quality healthcare across Western Sydney. Parramatta Community Health Centre supports people with chronic and complex needs through collaborative and accessible care. It also covers:

What you'll be doing
This role supports adult Community Mental Health Teams by addressing clinical risk, comorbidities, and psychotropic-related weight gain. It spans leadership, consultancy, education, and service development to enhance care quality and outcomes. Other responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert assessment, crisis support and care planning
  • Leading clinical practice, mentoring, and team development
  • Driving education for staff, consumers, and carers
  • Conducting and managing mental health research projects
  • Guiding service planning, quality improvement and innovation

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualification: Postgraduate Qualification in Mental Health Nursing
  • Registration: Current unrestricted Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Minimum five years full time equivalent post graduate qualification experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the speciality and post graduate qualification in field of practice.
  2. Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing/midwifery practice.
  3. Demonstrated advanced communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and proven application of the practice development framework to clinical practice, including effective verbal, written and negotiation skills and intermediate computer skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence based research
  5. Demonstrated leadership in strategic and clinical service planning and expertise in the management of organisational and cultural change.
  6. Proven advanced skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and evidence of ability to direct the development of educational programs.
  7. Proven clinical expertise in complex client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently
  8. Current NSW Drivers Licence (P2 acceptable)
