The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides expert clinical advice to patients/clients, carers and other health care professionals with complex healthcare needs within Wollongong Hospital's cardiology service.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership. The Clinical Nurse Consult will use this knowledge to provide leadership for Quality Improvement project to align inpatient care.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant models the CORE (Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment) values of the organisation. Provides clinical consultancy, education and support to the cardiology inpatient unit, coronary care unit, cardiac diagnostics centre, as well as the rest of the hospital - ensuring there are up to date evidenced based policies and procedures to support nursing practice.

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
