Sydney Local Health District is seeking Clinical Nurse Consultants to join our Community Mental Health team!
Do you have a current nursing registration with AHPRA and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience?

We have 5 Monday-Friday Full Time positions available across Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Community Service.

These positions will be within one of the CORE teams based at the following Community Healthcare Centres:
Camperdown, Canterbury, Croydon, Marrickville and Redfern.

Mental Health Services is committed to the provision of quality health services to the community. We aim to lead through achievement and innovation in clinical practice, research, teaching, training and management.

Nursing Services are seeking a suitably qualified registered nurse with demonstrable knowledge and experience in evidence based mental health nursing, clinical and quality frameworks and clinical leadership skills.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Grade 1) will be responsible for providing advanced evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating consumers' recovery plans.

This role is responsible for complex clinical decision making and providing supervision and consultancy to; colleagues, community managed organisations, GPs and our community.

The role will include clinical leadership in orientation, induction and mentorship of new clinical staff and will be responsible for leading quality improvement activities and maintaining staff clinical supervision.

The CNC1 will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Coordination, leadership and development of CORE team processes in ensuring consumers, families and carers have adequate access to Mental Health services, assessment, care and support.
  •  Development and review of CORE team procedures for assisting consumers and carers access a range of specialist and support services, to promote personal recovery and physical health and wellbeing.
  • Ensuring CORE team members have a comprehensive understanding of all local resources and are promoting effective inter-agency partnerships.
  • Ensuring the CORE team is responsive to the needs of the local population and its mental health needs and priorities.
  • Leadership and participation in CORE team quality improvement and research projects.
  • Provision of clinical supervision and mentorship to CORE team members.
  • Coordination and delivery of education programs for CORE team members and consumers and carers.
