- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience and approved post registration qualification relevant to the drug and alcohol nursing speciality, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
- Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary frame-work with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
- Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums, and a working knowledge of the five domains in the Professional practice framework for nurses and midwives.
- Demonstrated involvement in the development /change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence-based research.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning.
- Proven skills in clinical teaching, the identification of education needs in the clinical area, and competency in the use of contemporary information systems.
- Ability to apply clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
