What you'll be doing
The role involves conducting neuropsychological assessments to support diagnosis, treatment, and care planning for adult mental health patients at Cumberland Hospital. The preferred candidate will:

  • Provide assessments and consultations to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Offer professional development and supervision in neuropsychology.
  • Maintain assessment tools and referral databases.
  • Ensure high clinical and ethical standards in practice.
  • Contribute to research and service improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements

  • License: Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and eligible for Area of Practice endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • Qualification: Completed a Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Neuropsychology.

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Completed a Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Neuropsychology.
  2. Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and eligible for Area of Practice endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology.
  3. Experience providing neuropsychological assessments for adults presenting with acute or chronic symptoms of mental illness and written and verbal reports to referring clinicians, as well as carers where relevant.
  4. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and flexibly within multidisciplinary teams and across multiple clinical care teams.
  5. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated capacity to work with patients presenting with challenging behaviours or interpersonal sensitivity.
  7. Familiarity with psychiatric diagnostic categories and referral processes for patients who can benefit from evidence-based treatments for their disorder.
  8. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork principles and processes and to multidisciplinary consultation processes.
