About The Opportunity
This position provides strategic oversight and governance for the women’s health services in SWSLHD.

SWSLHD are the largest birthing district in NSW and have many opportunities for a senior midwifery leader to lead change and quality with midwifery models of care, the Blueprint and the Safety and Quality Essentials.
This position collaborates with senior executive, consumers, maternity leaders, midwives, doctors and various supporting services to achieve cohesive quality care for women accessing services.

As part of the Operations and Performance leadership team at SWSLHD you are a Midwife that will bring vision and clarity to your role, be a great communicator, self-directed, with an ability to inspire, motivate and support people to reach their full potential. The Clinical Manager of Women’s Health works collaboratively with the Medical Director in a co-leadership role across the clinical stream. The role has overarching governance and accountability for leadership and culture, patient safety & quality work, and incident monitoring & management across SWSLHD. This position will promote a culture of consistency – One service, multiple sites.
 
The role co-leads strategic development plans for service provision, models of care planning, data monitoring for quality improvements, and procedure and guideline development and implementation across the SWSLHD.
 
The role will provide guidance and support to ensure that there is a focus on service development and appropriate oversight of practices, trends and indicators across the District. Ongoing assessment and improvement in operational processes and clinical outcomes is an inherent responsibility of this position.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  2. Outline your senior Midwifery experience with demonstrated experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting. 
  3. Describe how you monitor and evaluate performance management across the organisation and identify opportunities to realize enhanced performance.
  4. Can you desribe how you would develop a strategic plan for the clinical stream, contribute to the development of a strategic plan for the organization and assess resource utilisation and make recommendations. This should incorporate the effective implementation of organisational change, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
  5. Can you provide examples that demonstrate your ability to develop, consult on, and implement policy, procedures, and guidelines across multidisciplinary teams? How have you ensured effectiveness and collaboration in these processes?
  6. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
