Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, OR Tertiary qualifications and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers OR Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health for Welfare Officers.
  2. Demonstrated high level clinical and consultancy skills and knowledge of assessment and evidence based interventions with children, adolescents, and their families/carers experiencing high level acuity of mental health issues including successful post-graduation experience in the provision of mental health services. For Registered Nurses at least 5 years full time equivalent postgraduate experience with postgraduate tertiary nursing qualifications in mental health with at least 3 year’s fulltime equivalent experience in the speciality field or current enrolment in or commitment to enrol in an approved postgraduate course within the next 12 months.
  3. Proven ability to think critically, problem solve and make timely, sound clinical decisions whilst working autonomously.
  4. Demonstrated expertise in clinical leadership and clinical supervision to mental health clinicians from all disciplines, upholding standards of clinical practice.
  5. Demonstrated high level of knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework for working with children and adolescents with mental health problems, including a thorough understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007), and relevant NSW child protection regulations.
  6. Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.


Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2022_030.  All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.

All NSW Health Category A workers are required to have received at least three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful. Category B positions must have atleast two doses and must also provide COVID-19 vaccination evidence if successful.
