An exciting opportunity exists to lead the Clinical Governance and Patient Experience functions at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and Health Services. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Manager, Clinical Governance and Patient Experience plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, quality, and effectiveness of clinical care and consumer engagement across the organisation.

What you'll be doing
The role includes providing leadership and assurance of the functions of clinical governance and patient/consumer engagement including: leadership of the Clinical Governance team, providing direction in Quality Improvement and Accreditation preparation and methodologies, coordinating Patient and Consumer feedback and events, Clinical Risk Management, monitoring Policy & Procedure compliance, and clinical outcomes and audit reporting. Additional responsibilities include facilitation, leadership and support to management teams, multidisciplinary clinical teams and clinicians in delivering improved patient care and experience, and to undertake quality monitoring and improvement initiatives including clinical risk management, clinical audit and clinical improvement initiatives.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Demonstrated understanding and effective implementation of the principles and systems of Clinical and Corporate Governance and contemporary issues impacting on service delivery and patient/consumer experience in the public hospital system.
  2. Extensive experience at hospital executive management level with a relevant post graduate management qualification or similar or working toward same.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of and proven expertise in successfully implementing contemporary models of quality improvement /assurance and risk management across a large organisation.
