We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Registered Nurse (Perioperative – Instrument & Circulating) to join our Operating Theatre team at Belmont Hospital, located in the picturesque Hunter region of New South Wales. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and skilled multidisciplinary team delivering quality surgical care to our community.


About Us

Belmont Hospital’s Operating Suite comprises four operating theatres and runs on a Monday to Friday schedule. Shifts are staggered between 0700 and 1930, ensuring variety and work-life balance. While overtime is occasional, our on-call system operates Monday to Thursday in line with the NSW Nurses State Award, with an opt-in arrangement for non-working days. We pride ourselves on a collaborative and professional team culture, where open communication, mutual respect, and patient-centered care are at the heart of everything we do. About the Role

This role involves working as both an Instrument and Circulating Nurse across a range of surgical specialities. You’ll be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of surgical setups, stock rotation, and the upkeep of surgeons’ preference cards. A typical week includes active participation in surgical procedures, maintaining high standards of infection control and safety, and contributing to smooth daily theatre operations.  Click here for the Position Description


About You

To succeed in this role, you will have: 

  • A minimum of 12 months recent experience as an Instrument and Circulating Nurse 

  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced team 

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with medical and senior staff 

  • A positive, adaptable attitude and a commitment to best practice
