  1. Tertiary qualifications in social work/ psychology /clinical psychology/occupational therapy and eligibility for membership of the appropriate professional association. Registration with the NSW Psychologist's Registration Board where applicable

  2. Demonstrated high level understanding of current child protection and child sexual assault service policy and practice and the needs of children involved in the statutory child protection system, including understanding of interagency roles and responsibilities in working with children and young people who have experienced significant risk of harm

  3. Demonstrated skills and experience in service planning, the development of models of care, leading and evaluating quality improvement activities and/or research and education provision

  4. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision to senior practitioners

  5. Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication, consultation and reasoning skills necessary to ensure high clinical practice standards and build strong team and interagency practice

  6. Demonstrated experience in negotiation and liaison at senior manager level with key partner agencies on complex child protection issues.

  7. Sound knowledge of data collection, statistical analysis, report writing and computer skills. Experience in research.

  8. Capacity to share after hours and weekend on call duties

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, as this is a Category A position, workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.​

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
