The Family Care Cottage (FCC) is a free and confidential community health service located in Tamworth, NSW. FCC provides tailored support, counselling, and education to expectant parents and families with children aged 0–3 years. Our team of Child and Family Health Nurses and a Social Worker deliver a mix of “day stay” clinics and outreach services, supporting families during their early years with practical strategies and compassionate care.
About the role:
As a Child and Family Health Nurse in the Family Care Cottage, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the wellbeing of families with young children. You'll provide expert education and support on issues such as infant feeding, sleep patterns, settling techniques, toddler behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and parent-infant attachment.
You’ll also be responsible for triaging referrals from a variety of sources, ensuring that each family receives timely and appropriate support. In this collaborative environment, you’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver holistic, person-centred care that strengthens families and builds confidence during early childhood.
This is a temporary part-time position until April 2026 (0.58 FTE, 22 hours/week, Monday to Friday), based at Tamworth Community Health Service.

- Confidence in working with families with complex needs and diverse backgrounds
- A proactive, empathetic, and person-centred approach
Requirements:
- Current Registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with AHPRA
- Child and Family Health qualifications
- Current NSW driver’s licence and ability to drive for work
