The Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate Social Worker Level 1/2 to join their dedicated Mental Health team at Wyong Hospital. This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to provide essential psychosocial support to consumers, their families, and carers, while working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. As a Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals through their mental health journey, advocating for their needs, and facilitating access to appropriate resources to promote recovery, independence, and well-being.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive social work services across mental health settings, offering psychosocial assessments, therapeutic interventions, and advocacy for consumers and their families. You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop individualised treatment plans, and provide short-term counselling and therapy. Your responsibilities will also include facilitating access to community resources, promoting independence, and ensuring continuity of care. In addition, you will engage in crisis intervention, patient advocacy, and case management to support the consumer’s recovery journey. Your role will be integral to the development of recovery-focused strategies and fostering a safe and supportive environment for consumers and their families.

About You 
 


  • You hold a Degree in Social Work from an accredited course, providing eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • You have an understanding of behavioural and psychiatric illness and associated therapeutic interventions. 
  • You have a current Drivers' Licence and willingness to travel between sites for work purposes.
